Dell, HP and Lenovo build a lot of competent machines. The question worth asking is what happens three years in, when you need a part.
Their engineering is fine. The disagreement is about ownership. A machine built from standard parts stays serviceable long after the warranty ends, holds its value, and can be handed on to a second owner who can still get it fixed. That is only true if the parts have more than one source.

Five things that change.
- Every part is a part you can buy.No proprietary power supplies, no custom motherboard form factors, no board-locked memory. Every component in a Typhoon can be bought at a retail counter, replaced by a competent shop, and upgraded without asking us. Standard mounting, standard headers, standard fan spacing.
- Local authorised source, not parallel import.Every component comes from a local authorised source. A parallel-import part has no local warranty behind it, which means the shop that sold it to you either absorbs the RMA or sends you overseas. Ours are locally warranted at the distributor, which is what lets us stand behind the whole machine for three years.
- Configured for what you run.You are not choosing between three tiers with the interesting decisions already made for you. Tell us the software you run and the machine gets built around it. The CPU, the memory, the thermals, all of it.
- The person who answers built it.Support is a workshop on Kallang Avenue. Three years of warranty with one number to call, on-site in the first year. There is a name on your build log and you are allowed to ask for it.
- AMD, deliberately.Ryzen and Threadripper across the entire line, because the roadmap has out-engineered the alternative for five years running. It is a position we will defend, and one we will abandon publicly if it stops being true.
