Typhoon Knots

Your machine, measured.

Knots is in development at our Kallang workshop. Here’s what it does and where it’s going.

Knots is a Windows application we are building in house. It answers four questions people ask us constantly: what is in this machine, what is it running, does it hold up under load, and is it any faster than the last one.

We built it for ourselves first. Every Typhoon gets tested and recorded before it ships, and the tooling for that had to exist anyway — this is that work, turned into something you can run on your own machine.

What it does.

  • Hardware inventoryWhat is actually inside the machine — the specific parts, not the marketing names on the box.
  • Software inventoryWhat is installed and what is running, so a performance problem can be traced to a cause rather than guessed at.
  • Stress testPut the machine under sustained load and watch how it behaves. The same discipline we apply on the bench before a build ships.
  • BenchmarkMeasure the result, so an upgrade decision can be made on numbers instead of on a hunch.

Licensing, availability and pricing will be published when Knots ships, rather than promised now. If you want to know when that happens, tell us and we will let you know.
